KINDNESS NOTES
At the chapel you are invited to leave a note sharing a story of kindness you experienced. We also hope you’ll take time to read other stories of kindness, too.
You are also welcome to stop in at The Molly Ivins Pavilion, a fun community space packed with arts and crafts supplies and a ping-pong table. It’s all FREE.

THE TINY CHAPEL OF KINDNESS
I was miraculously able to acquire the Tiny Chapel back in 2016, thanks in large part to the kindness of friends and strangers. It has been the site of hundreds of weddings and many, many not traditional funerals.
In 2021 I was on the receiving end of a protracted bullying campaign that drove me out of the small town I had recently moved to. The effects of this violence, which included death threats, shook me deeply. The trauma was too much. I moved back to the ranch where I spent nearly a full year recovering psychologically and spiritually.
It took me a very long time to remember something I wish I’d never forgotten. Kindness always beats out unkindness. With this recollection, I was finally able to exhale some and let go of quite a bit (definitely not all) of my anger at these bullies who went out of their way to be actively unkind.
We need more kindness in our world. The Tiny Chapel of Kindness is a place for people of all walks to come and share what we have in common—the ability to choose kindness. Thank you so much for visiting.
